Gary Destramp grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts in “the acre” — one of Lowell’s oldest neighborhoods. Countless early morning breakfasts at diners in the city and late night excursions to well known bars and restaurants and “just walking around” inspired Gary to illustrate his favorite places in his unique style.
Gary studied illustration at New England School of art and Design in Boston, Massachusetts. His illustrations have appeared in newspapers and magazines. He currently works as a designer at a large regional daily newspaper.
Now that he’s illustrated many sites in Lowell, Gary plans to draw places that define the character of other old mill towns in the region. Your town could be next. (If you have a special request, email or call him.
